Is it or isn't it?

Could this be a lemony version of this Cath Kidston print? I bought it a little while ago in a charity shop; one single duvet cover and a matching Oxford pillowcase.

The springy floral fabric is so cheery I thought it would be just the thing to brighten up our bedroom in those chilly, early weeks of spring that promise a lot but still feel like winter.

My plan is to open up the cover and join it to a huge candy striped sheet I've got to make a big duvet cover. The pillowcase will be just for me, on top of a pretty, vintage cotton pillowcase with a crochet lace trim. Woody's quite happy with plain white cotton thanks very much he says.
It's very well made but with no labels so I imagine it might be handmade. Bit of a mystery - very cheery though. A few more things have been cheering me up this week too.
Shoes that make me feel happy - rediscovered at the back of my wardrobe.
First spring flowers inside
A cheery new rug for my side of the bed

Lots to make me smile during a busy, hard week.

Lovely things to cheer you up.

I think I have a similar fabric up the loft in my stash from before I had heard of CK.

Reading your blog has reminded me - I think I may have to go up tomorrow and try and find it.

Thanks for jogging my memory.

That's a very pretty print. Great find. Your shoes are very cheerful too. Don't you just love to "shop" the house. I always find stuff I forgot I had.

oh pretty! I'm selling a CK one on ebay just like that..maybe I'll be regretting it next week!
CK's handmades from her first shop didn't have labels in so you might well have an original there! bargain.
Oh dont you just LOVE spring flowers with their cheery colours, nothing beats them in my eyes. Have a lovely w/end x

I love that fabric, you're right it is very similar to a CK one. It'll look terrific with the candy stripes.

Hi Steph, what a lovely find. Of course CK does reprint old designs from the 40's and 50's, maybe yours is the original version?
I have the original spriggy print that she does with birds on, she just changed the colours slightly and 'puffed-up' the birds!

The daffs are lovely! Have a wonderful weekend,
Niki

Floral fabric is lovely - makes you look forward to spring all the more.

Love having spring flowers indoors - makes such a difference when it's grey and gloomy outside to have something so colourful and bright to admire.

Hope you don't mind, but I have tagged you today on my blog.
By the way I love reading your blog and isn't lovely to see daffodils, the first signs of spring.

That is CK, it's called Rose sprig. I think it's one of the quite old (as in original patterns) she made when she was firts starting out. She's brough it back now because I recovered my little stool with it.

what a lucky find! Yes it is CK, I think it was one of her first designs, and she's just brought it out again.
It will look lovely with the candy stripe and maybe some little ribbon ties at the bottom.

I love your selction of pillowcases, they are sadly lacking in the charity shops near to me! Judging by a few of the comments it sounds like you have CK vintage, what a great buy! Hope you dont mind me asking where you got your rug from, it is gorgeous! I love it when simple things make us so happy! Have a great weekend......Claire xx

It is grand to see how you are getting some cheer into the cold month of January.

Hoping that you will continue finding spring previews to keep spirits up as that truly tough February makes its way on to the calendar's center stage.

I do like your notion of combining the textiles to create something uniquely yours.

Cheers!

I prefer this old Cath print, im a little board of Cath Kidston at the min, its all abit too cliche now i think. I even cancelled my catalogue subscription!

The rug you have is fantastic, i really love it, where did you find it? I always seem to struggle to find affordable vintage rugs, although the one i recently blogged about was a very fortunate find!

Fab rug - doesn't it remind you of the Readicut kits you used to be able to get? They took for ever to make and by the time you'd finished it you probably had changed the colour scheme it was originally meant for anyway.
