Staying in a funky, modern pad was very, very nice and very luxurious (whirlpool bath included!) but after a couple of nights I did find myself pining for some vintage beautifulness.
Oh it was lovely to have mug of something frothy in my new favourite spotty mug, say hello to my cheery pots of spring bulbs by the back door and snuggle back under an eiderdown by the fire in the evening.
I've started another collection (I'm going to be running out of room soon!). If only I'd crocheted these beauties myself but I'm only just getting to grips with it - not a naturally gifted crocheter me - so these thrifted ones will have to do for now.
On Sunday we headed into the hills and a birthday lunch for my sister at a favourite village of ours a couple of miles away. The wind was keen but it blew away that grey blanket above and the sun streamed down.
Spring was really in the air while we wandered around, dreaming of life in these pretty houses, with everything looking so bright and fresh.
Even if winter returns this week, there's not all that much of it left now. Maybe now we've had a proper winter with the right weather at the right time for once, just maybe we'll have a glorious summer to follow. Well, a girl can dream!

It's great when you get back home after some time away. It really makes me see my home afresh, as if through completely different eyes. I usually like what I see!
Love your Enid Blyton books, by the way.

Lovely to catch up with you again Steph and so glad you enjoyed your time away. Even better that being home feels so good. It has gone colder but I am keeping fingers crossed that it will be a 'proper' year too. Have a lovely week xx
Hello Steph, there's no place like home. I get terribly home sick when I go away. It's lovely to be in amongst your own things again. You do have such lovely things too.

Well who wouldn't want to come home to such a gorgeous place full of pretties. I think half the pleasure of going away is the coming home!

I love coming home after a trip away. I always want to clean everything in sight though, and reposition bits and bobs. I suppose it's re-nesting! Lovely treasures you found.

What a lovely, homey, cozy post. Sounds to me like your home was whispering this to you, 'welcome back to your home sweet home'.

I'm glad you had a good holiday Steph but there really is nothing like that moment when you return home and sit down on the sofa and relax ... Your home is so pretty and you live in such a beautiful part of the country, no wonder you're happy to be home

Your holiday sounds wonderful but I agree it's always lovely to return home ~ especially when it's as lovely as yours.
Have a great weekend.
Lovely pictures!
Nice to be at home, when you have been away makes you miss your bits n bobs!xxxx
I always look forward to coming home after being away. There's nothing like 'Home Sweet Home' and your own bed.
I'm only just getting to grips with the crotcheting and look forward to the day I can make a blanket, like you I have to make do with thrifted ones for now. I am going to attempt a cushion at some point though.
Love the books!
Have a good weekend.

I know exactly what you mean about wanting to get back to your vintagey home! I feel just the same when I stay in a modern place.
Coming home always feels good.
We have been collecting crotchet blankets too, just can't get enough!

it is nice being at home having your things around you - your blankets are lovely. i, too am not a gifted crotcheter but would love to make a blanket. might get there one day but there are too many other things to take my fancy - knitting, sewing and painting for starters.
your photos are lovely

Collecting is a wonderful thing and there are few things in life more wonderful than a crocheted blanket or two or three.....
Just popped over (hope you don't mind) and so thrilled to see blanket making itself at home - it fits in so well amongst your lovely things.
