Cheeriness

On a dark, dreary day like today, little things like these bring lots of cheer, lift my heart and make me smile.
Pretty thrifted blouses and  a little jug in my favourite shade of green.
Fresh fruit on the table and shoots full of promise.
Bright and beautiful tulips on the mantlepiece.
And a much needed cup of tea with a new magazine. Simple things but so much pleasure.

Tea and magazines is how I have spent the last hour! Cheeriness is very much needed on a day like today... I was going to have a browse in town but didn't fancy it in the rain and wind!

Such beautiful and uplifting photos, Steph!
My absolute happiness would be in the last photo, though : tea and a new issue! I sooooo need them lately to unwind. Perfect combination!
Funny thing: I had a similar posting a few days ago!
You're welcome to check it out!

Please please can you tell me which magazine you are reading there?

Well, not only do they lift your spirits, but they lifted mine too.

That embroidered tablecloth is lovely.

We've had boiling hot weather over the past week, but we are back to pouring rain again today, with cyclone up in Queensland (im not in Queensland).

Ahh, the promise of tulips, spring will soon be in the air.

Cheers

This is the first time I've read your utterly charming blog. You take wonderful pictures and write about things which are dear to my heart. Seeing these bright fabrics and colorful embroidery made me realize how essential they are during gray foggy winter! Here in northern California we've had an especially long cold foggy season and it's driving everyone a little bit bonkers!

What a list of goodness. That shade of green is my favourite too. My Gran used to call is 'eau de nil' which always made me smile.

That tablecloth is stupendous.
