A Trip Around town

Fancy a Saturday morning stroll around town with me? Jolly good, the weather's lovely, no need for a brolly so grab the bags and we'll be off.

Up St Edward's Street then, its been here for 800 years and the half-timbered houses stand on the old medieval burgage plots and the long, narrow gardens of the merchants' houses still stretch out behind.
First stop, one of the lovely gift shops on our way up the hill. Lots to be tempted by.

Around the corner, on Sheepmarket, I can't resist the bookshop. Its crammed with ancient volumes, new releases, local art and beautiful cards. A proper treasure trove.
Up into the market square and the monthly Fine Food Fair and Collector's Market are in full swing. Today you can find yourself anything from a buffalo steak to a vintage eiderdown and pretty much anything in between. Look what came home with me today!

Just need to pop into the hairdressers to book an appointment before they fill up for Christmas.

Time to stop for coffee and cake at the Italian deli and watch the world potter by for a while.

And then almost my favourite bit of all - toddling off home and finding just the right place for a few new treasures. Thanks for coming along.

P.S Thank you to all you lovely bloggers who have sent your warm thoughts and wishes on the loss of our furry girl. I'm truly overwhelmed and appreciate each one so very much. Thank you for thinking of me and being so very kind. It's meant an awful lot to me xx

Good 'Sunday' morning and what a beautiful day it is - in our neck of the woods anyway. A lovely stroll and peek into someone elses world and what treasures to find, the crochet blanket is gorgeous and I can see why it had to come home with you.

Have a lovely, lovely day,

Nina x

Oh what a lovely day in town you had. I grew up in a town that is almost 400 years old so I have an idea of how amazing it is to walk where so many others have walked and shopped before you. Although on your side of the pond things are a bit older...I am in New England after all.
I love your granny square! I have a thing about them. I just can't bear to leave them behind. I feel such a strong desire to "rescue" them. Yours has such pretty muted colors.

Is that Leek by any chance? It sort of reminds me of the place.

Sorry to hear of your furry loss, I am a cat lover and currently only have 3( another one is on loan to my ex as the lovely Sophie had to be put to sleep and he missed having a furry around. I think she is on permanent loan though..such loyalty huh?).
Love your blog. Have you had any bilberries off of the Roaches? are there still any Wallabies on the Roaches?

Feel like I've done a morning's shopping now! And I didn't spend a thing. Gosh, that blanket is lovely. It's so sad that things like that, made with love and care, end up on a stall somewhere. But then again, it looks like it has found a suitable new home! Love, country mouse

Such a wonderful town to go around in. I just love the bright and cheery bookstore. I like ones like that better than the cold modern/fast ones they have here. I am not much of a coffee drinker, but having the cake sounds good!!!
So sorry about your cat, sometimes you can find that special one that is the sweetest out of all of them. I'm sure she will always have a special place in your heart.
Take care,
Ulrike
