Best Laid Plans

This weekend we had plans up our sleeves for an energetic scramble over some fearsome rocks and a hike across the hills. The forecast looked good and we were all ripe for an explore so preparations were made. But then a tummy bug knocked our littlest man off his feet and the drizzle came in.

Time at home with comforting, cosiness around is definitely required. There is much cuddling, dvd watching and slumping going on and slowly, slowly he is brightening up. Funny how quiet the house is when Little A is off colour, very odd.
So while the sun shone yesterday I got to play with my new tiny plastic greenhouse (a present from mum) and moved the cosmos (Dazzler and Sensation) seedlings into their new home while I enjoyed the view from my potting bench (do excuse the laundry!).
And while little man curled up with daddy, big brother and I had a quick whizz around the car boot sale in town and brought home dinosaurs and racing cars to cheer a small boy up and pretty cups to make me smile too.
There might be a bit more gardening this afternoon if the rain has eased off but for now I'm off for a morsel more of this. Apple and raspberry crumble made with the last of the autumn harvest. Hope you are having a delicious Sunday too.

Snap - a tummy bug scuppered our plans too. Though ours was a MIL (who was due to boy mind) having the bug meaning our adults weekend away got postponed :(

Love the cups you found - very pretty :)

Can I join the club - a tummy bug wiped me out too! I spent yesterday wrapped in a duvet on the sofa, shivering!

Pottering about the garden sounds good - that's what I did today (feel a liitle better).

My big man (hubby) has it this weekend, I had it last. Not fun so I feel for him. Amazing how plans have to change.

I've not even planted my seeds yet! So behind I might meet myself coming forward at this rate!

Love your tea cups, what a pretty find.

Hope your little man feel better soon. My daughter had the same thing the other week and then a week later it came back for a second bout. She's on the mend now. Gorgeous cups and I could just eat that crumble. Lx

I hate it when they are poorly. I love to see washing blowing in the breeze, managed to get some air dried here for the first time in ages. Also did a bit of sewing in the afternoon sunshine, had to wear a cardy, but it was just warm enough. Have a lovely week. dev x

Your photos are lovely. You didn't need to excuse the washing. I think washing blowing on a line is a lovely sight. Especially as I don't have one and have to use a maiden inside! All the best to your little boy x

I hope your son is beginning to feel better. It's amazing how often plans have to be changed when you have little ones... I have Miss P at home this week, my work put on hold again. I sometimes wonder how I would manage if I had a full time job out there. I couldn't see the employers being understanding about me having to take so much time off over the year every time Miss P is poorly. None of my friends or family live nearby so I can't rely on anyone. I have to be thankful that I am self employed.
That crumble looks absolutely delicious.

Hope the little people at your house are feeling much better now. The fruit crumble looks delicious! I love all the green space around your home... the view is just beautiful! I personally love seeing laundry hanging on the line... do you know that there are a lot of communities here in the USA that prohibit clothslines? Really ridiculous!! Such an easy way to cut down on energy (electricity) consumption, but it's not allowed!
