Winter's Grip

Snowbound again today. Everything is monochrome outdoors and we're marooned.

I'm wearing many cosy layers, eating lots of soup and endlessly clearing the snow from the bird table.
Spring is on the windowsill but beyond the glass, winter has us in her icy grip.

And we're rather enjyoing it.
Arch and his new friend. For Francesx

I envy your weather! I wish it snowed s bit here, too! Beautiful images especially the last one!
I guess snow IS kids' playground, or anyone's who feels like a kid for that matter!

I normally go round turning down thermostats, but I've had the heating on all day today - unheard of! Car has to go for it's MOT tomorrow, I've swept about 5 inches of snow off it. Great snowman! Julie x

Its been a snow day here for the boys thought MrVV has headed off 25 miles away to work without a hitch!!

Lots of soup making/eating has happened here too with bursts of snowball throwing.

I'll miss mine if they go back to school tomorrow :(

We have had the snow and the freezing temperatures. Last night we were forecast to get some more. We have had some heavy snow falls but it has been sleety and now most of the snow has gone all mushy. Hope it doesn't freeze tonight or the roads are going to be very dangerous tomorrow. Your daffs are putting on a nice show. Keep wrapped up and warm.

My son must go to the only school that has stayed open throughout. We had to walk a 4 mile round trip :(
We made up for it at the weekend though with lots of snowy fun. Love your snowman! M x

I was admiring your cardigan too! Part of me would like to knit one, but I've never tried cable before...

Our children have had a four day weekend with the snow and it's been lovely! Lots of sledging and snowball fights and a sense of community as everyone comes out to walk or play in the snow and admire the children's snowmen around the village.

Hi Steph,

There is something really inspiring about reading posts from the opposite hemisphere, being transported - albeit momentarily - into another season.

I'm sitting here in a teeshirt today, and a bit hot and sweaty after my walk to the post office, seeing your cool was refreshing.

cheers
Fi

Thank you so much, Steph, and bravo to Arch...that's a super snowman. Lots of personality there! Hope the weather stays cold enough for the snowman to see another sunrise and sunset.

I've enjoyed all your snowy pictures Steph, virtually no snow down here in the West Country at all!

I recently discovered your blog and it is enchanting. I love all the snowy posts - we didn't get much in London so looking at other people's snowmen has been the closest I've had to one of my own this year! x
