That this summer is panning out rather like the last and that my pictures are just the same. Lots to enjoy though while the rain pours down and the wind blows. I feel a film and an afternoon read coming on. Stay dry xxx

Well I personally love your pictures so keep them coming!
I am afraid you may be right about summer - its raining and blowing away down here in Sussex too. A nice pile of books and magazines and a new Miss Marple tonight are keeping me cheerful. Love your cosy indoors pictures. Karen xx
every so often we get a burst of sunshine between the storm clouds and I mind less about the rain. and my water but is filling up nicely. trying to find silver linings in all the clouds x
I just absolutely adore all your pictures, this would have to be my favourite blog, thank you so much Steph. Forever grateful and I wish I could send you some Aussie sunshine xx Simone
I am reading your blog from the hot, sticky, southeastern USA and trying not to be jealous of your cool and rainy weather. I know it sounds crazy, but it's true. I love Miss Marple, too! But, I am eagerly anticipating the evening viewing of a new episode of Inspector Lewis and greatly appreciate of air conditioning.
Oh Steph I know exactly how you feel. For once I crave the beach and warm sand between my toes...not shivering and wrapping up warm against the elements.
I was sitting here thinking it's going to get darker every evening now and we haven't even had much of a summer...perhaps it will get better in July/Aug...one lives in hope...lovely photos!
I can't remember how I stumbled upon your lovely blog, but I am so glad that I did! I had to chuckle when reading this post and nod my head in solidarity because I am looking out the window, in the beautiful state of Washington in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, seeing nothing but pewter colored skies, more than threatening rain, and wondering how on earth I am going to entertain two crazy little boys who just want to play outside. I think it will board games and a trip to the library for us :)
I arrived on your blog the other day and I absolutely love it!!! Your home looks so cozy and your pictures a beautiful!! My name is Lony and I live here with my Scottish hubby Alan in "Nordrhein Westfalen", not far away from Düsseldorf (1/2 hour) or Cologne (1 hour). We speak English and German at home, so I speak a little bit, but not very good ;-)
When I was a young woman I stayed for a while in a little town called "Swadlincote" in Derbyshire, not far away from Burton on Trent, I think Staffordshire is right next to Derbyshire, isn't it?
I love the country style so very much!! I am not so much into painting everything white (had this phase, too - a few years ago ;-))) but now I love warm cozy colours and hony brown wood... we live in a 200 years old house, it is always lots of work, but we love it...
If you like, visit me on my website, it is called www.autumnberry-cottage.de - because I am deeply in love with the autumn season ;-) I was born in autumn and since I was a little child - this was always my favourite time of the year :-)
Will visit you again soon, I really like your blog!!!

Windy yes, cloudy yes, sometimes a burst of sunshine yes.
Rain? Hardly at all, so fed up with watering plants. Huge cracks in the fields. We really are the SW Suffolk Desert and not in a good way.
