Everyone on the poetically named Cote de Bradfield yesterday was in such fabulous spirits. We met some lovely people, kind and generous people who gave out chalks to the kids to #maketheirmark on the road, a nice chap who shared his radio so we could all follow the race and some properly funny types who made the waiting all part of the brilliant experience.
Well done Yorkshire, well done to all the organisers, well done to everyone behind three brilliant days. Thanks ever so much. You made our summer xxx
I come from a family of cyclists where I am the exception as I find it rather dull and dangerous too. Not really a good spectator sport, so watching it just didn't appeal. It was pretty local to me but I decided to ignore it. Too many memories of having to hang around as a child watching races. Very glad that it has gone now.
My family were all stood on cote de bradfield too yesterday. Then they drove down and saw them leaving from Cambridge this morning and i greeted them into the Mall tonight. A fabulous weekend!
How fun -- I'm a TdF nut too ^v^!
Hi Steph, how absolutely wonderful it was, we watched live from our living room Down Under in Sydney, Well done for cheering them on, only wish I was also there to join in as the atmosphere looked electric. Warm wishes Simone xx
What a small world Angela! I just loved the effort everyone went to celebrating such a great event. Did you get a good view on the Mall?
Thanks Simone. Glad Simon Gerrans was ok after his crash with Cav. We're Orica Green Edge fans too, great team, always so positive. Have a smashing weekend x
Thanks Gigi! Looking forward to the French stages now. Allez! X
Oh it looked brilliant! I'm a big Tour fan and would have been there had we still been I the North. Seen lots of photos of bradfield on FB, added by friends who also watched from there. Brilliant!
I've loved seeing all the support for this over the last few weeks. Its great when we all get behind something isn't it? Glad you enjoyed it x
My son went up to Yorkshire to watch on Saturday, he said it was fantastic! Jane x
allez allez. I watched them cycle up cote de buttertubs an awful lot faster than I once managed to cycle that road, and never again, the down hill frightened the life out of me........
A great view thanks. We stood on the statue outside buckingham palace looking straight
down the mall to the finish.
How exciting to be part of it! And to see all that green countryside on the TV coverage too; it dipped into Derbyshire too - my neck of the woods! :-)
Didn't we do things just grand up in yorkshire, I'm not a cycling nut, but I was absolutely gripped with the t.v footage, I had to watch it all as I know all the places along the route up here. So pleased you were treated to such nice hospitality, I thought you might be up here, and may have seen your yellow jerseys on a whiz past on tv :)
Hi Steph, thank you for your kind words, I can see a few late nights staying up cheering them on! Enjoy the Tour Simone x
