Restoring Order

It really has felt rather nice to get back into the swing of things over the past week. The boys have been really keen to see their friends some more and for us that back to school feeling has prompted sorting, tidying and planning on a major scale. I quite like it.

The final week of the holidays was wonderful and we spent it walking with friends in the woods, cooking up some autumnal dishes for the freezer and planning for some big occasions on their way over the next few weeks.

All this glorious late summer weather, there is apparently about, is giving the Moorlands a pretty wide berth. Here its muggy and very grey, has been for days, and I'm craving either a last blaze of glory or a good old downpour or two to keep the garden fresh. So we might go off for a look at the sea tomorrow and chase the sun while we've still got the chance.

Have a smashing weekend. xx

Lovely photos :) Hope you've had a good trip to the see the sea - and found some sunshine. I'm a bit fed up of all this grey we're having, rubbish light for my photography!

Sounds lovely. We have had misty, murky starts and lovely sunny afternoons. The light and colour of West Cornwall has never been so beautiful. I love your posies. Are they from your garden?

I agree with Leanne, the colours of your flowers are a real 'wow'. I can't decide which I like best in fact, spring yellow and blues or later summer hot reds, burnt orange and purples.

I've very jealous of your lovely eiderdown, I would love to own one along with a wood burner to help turn autumn and winter into a cosy season. For now I'll just have to live vicariously! Antonia x

What lovely photographs and it can only be in England.
I'll send you some sunshine from Brittany.
Hope it arrives for you today.

Your photos are lovely, they make me want to move to the country and bake pies. I could bake a pie today, but, you know, it's not the same. ;-)
The return to order has been welcome here, too. We all need a bit of routine in our lives. x

Oh Leanne I have massive Cornish pining going on this week. Loving all your pics so much. Yes the flowers in my posies are all from my little garden. I've got just enough to snip a very favourites every week. Wilko dahlia tubers are my best find this year -a quid each and flower just as well as Sarah Raven ones.

Most of the annual stuff is in pots because my borders are tiny and jammed with spring/ mid season stuff. I think I need a revamp soon!

Have a lovely week xxx
