At last, a day with no rain! Its not warm yet but the forecast for the week to come is at last looking like a glimpse of summer may be on the way. Along the lanes, cow parsley is beginning to do its thing, frothing and exploding in clouds of creamy stars.
If it warms up over the next few days the show is going to be glorious. We got married at the end of May and all the flowers were shades of ivory, cream and white and our bridesmaids wore spring green. I love the countryside in May when the beech leaves are vibrant and clouds of May blossom, dead nettle and horse chestnut candles look like a bride's bouquet.
Glad the weather is beginning to be more summer-like.
I look forward to more photos with the new camera.
Hi, I've been lurking for a while, and don't think I've actually said hello, so, hi!
I'm in Oxfordshire and our cow parsley is only just beginning to fill the verges too.
My wedding anniversary is at the beginning of May and we decorated the church with lots of cow parsley (and periwinkles from my parents's garden. In the nearly-twenty years I've been married, this is only the second year, I think, that the cow parsley wasn't out in time for my anniversary.
Hope everything will catch up a bit in this warm spell..

I am hoping that your cold from the last post is am almost forgotten memory? They don't seem to fit with cheery spring weather, at all!
Our weather has mirrored yours - at first, early summer and a drought. Then, endless rain in May - so much so that I keep thinking that it was April Showers. I keep telling myself that in a month, I'll miss these cold toes and fingers! ;)
Finally, I love country fresh and lush green and white. Am I silly if I say that it's nature's very own elegance? Happy anniversary coming up!
Oh, my word verification is merrisome - sounds very happy! =]
I was walking down a narrow footpath today, the sun was shining and there was cow parsley either side of me,it's so pretty and delicate isn't it? Is it called that because cows like it I wonder?
Have fun with your new camera!

Goodness, how I love the May flowers too. Have you had a little more warmth? Perhaps some sun? I'm hoping so...
I could gaze at the shapes in a cow parsley flower for hours...and I love to call the horse chestnut flowers 'candles' too. So so cheering and extra magical when the sun actually appears xx
This is my favourite time of year. I love it when the hedgerows burst into life!
